Visa information

Visa Information

In order to work in the UK you must hold a valid visa or passport before arrival. If you seek entry to the United Kingdom without having obtained a valid visa before you arrive, YOU WILL BE REFUSED ENTRY.

Unfortunately we do not offer work permits or sponsorship opportunties however below are some of the most popular permits or visas available to overseas candidates. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and that there are many other routes available that might be preferable to your unique circumstances.

'Tier 1' and the 'Youth Mobility Scheme'

Throughout 2008 there has been some major changes to the UK visas regulations and requirements. The Tier 1 point based programme has replaced the Highly Skilled Migrant Visa. And November 2008 will see the implementation for the Youth Mobility Scheme which has replaced the Working Holiday Visa. As these are only recent changes we would highly recommend our candidates to monitor the government based websites. For further details go to www.homeoffice.gov.uk.

Ancestry Visa

If you are able to prove that you have a British born grandparent or parent, you will be eligible for the Ancestry visa. This visa is granted for five years, with no work restrictions.

After five years in the UK on the strength of an Ancestry visa you are eligible to apply for permanent residence. Your spouse and dependants can accompany you to the UK as your dependants on this visa. For further information log on to www.homeoffice.gov.uk.

Unmarried Partner Visa

If your life partner would like to accompany you to the UK, provided that you qualify for one of the permanent visas, he/she might accompany you on the basis of an unmarried partner dependency visa.

In order to qualify for this visa, your partner will have to prove that you have been living together in a relationship akin to a marriage continuously for two years or more. As holder of this visa your partner will be entitled to work in the UK unrestrictedly. For further information log on to www.homeoffice.gov.uk.
