Hays Specialist Recruitment

The attributes of a successful interim

Working as an interim or contractor accountancy jobs, you will need to draw upon the expertise you have gained in previous roles or assignments and will be expected and able to make an immediate impact.

Great emphasis is placed on value for money and productivity, so you will be expected to bring professionalism, an impartial approach as well as technical expertise and often leadership qualities in all that you do.

To succeed as a “career interim”, you will need to display a track record of identifying the business critical issues, bringing a fresh approach and thinking to a situation, often asking the questions others are too scared, or don’t think to ask.

You will not be involved in the internal politics of the organisation or climbing the career ladder, but rather focused on the task at hand.

The ability to communicate and establish rapport with business stakeholders quickly is critical and you must have the ability to adapt your personal style to fit different situations, environments and organisational cultures.
