Charitable Support
Our charity partner as of 1 August 2006 is Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Research has shown that 75% of people who are seriously ill with cancer would like to be cared for at home. Marie Curie Nurses make that wish possible for thousands of cancer patients in cities, towns and villages across the UK every single year.
The charity also provides the largest number of hospice beds outside the NHS with 10 hospices throughout the UK. These hospices offer specialist support in a relaxed, friendly and comfortable environment and no charge is ever made to patients or their families.
Across Hays, we work closely with Marie Curie Cancer Care through many of our PR/marketing events both internally across our offices, and where possible, externally with client and candidate driven initiatives.
The total amount we donated 2006/2007 to Marie Curie Cancer Care was £140,000.
Our annual target from 1 August 2007 will be £80,000.
If this target is reached, Hays will match this donation, potentially bringing the total amount donated to Marie Curie for our 2-year partnership to £300,000.
In addition to four UK-wide Fundraising Days, there is also an action-packed nationwide Marie Curie programme of fundraising events, which includes the BUPA Great Run Series, overseas challenges (Kilimanjaro & Great Wall of China treks), abseiling, five-a-side football tournaments and much, much more.
The shortlist for the charity partner from 1st August 2008 has now been finalised and we are not recieveing any further charity applications. To be considered as our future charity partner, please contact Hays Head Office, Euston Road in April 2009.
