Structural Awards 2007
The annual Structural Awards ceremony took place on 14 November. The event was held in the grand setting of Lawrence Hall in London and was attended by over 400 people, all of whom came together to celebrate the achievements of those working in the international structural industry.
Adjeleian Allen Rubeli wins Heritage Award for Buildings
Hays Civil & Structural, which specialises in engineering jobs, was proud to sponsor the Heritage Award for Buildings, which was won by the structural designer Adjeleian Allen Rubeli Ltd for its sympathetic restoration of the Library of Parliament in Canada.
The judges were impressed by the care, courage and inventiveness of the structural engineers involved in this challenging project. Buro Happold was also highly commended in this category for its work on restoring Baskerville House in the centre of Birmingham.
Runners up in the Heritage Award for Buildings were:
- SKM Anthony Hunts for their work on HBOS head office in Edinburgh
- Building Design Partnership for their involvement in Murrays Mill in Manchester
