Technical Administration Jobs

Technical administration jobs consist of different tasks as required on assigned projects. This could be anything from management of quality and CAS systems, preparing working drawings as required by project managers in accordance with the project quality plan on assigned projects.

Multitasking in technical adminstration jobs

There will be regular liaison with project teams to ensure continuity of workload and it is therefore important to develop a good understanding of all relevant standards, Codes of Practice, Health & Safety legislation and current relevant design methods.

You could also manage office digital cameras including downloading images and editing as required or dealing with post, taking telephone messages, filing and photocopying, making up Project files and ordering stationery.

Initiative, organisation and flexibility are all important interpersonal skills as is the ability to thrive in a busy environment, often working to deadlines, but above all you have to relish working in a team dynamic.

Document control and design experience

As a document controller, you will be involved in uploading/download AutoCAD drawings and CAD files  onto/from various EDM systems eg BIW, record issued documents in accordance with Project Life Cycle procedures. Previous document control experience with experience of BIW software and AutoCAD is desirable.

You could also be managing incoming and outgoing documents for the engineering team, comprising of specifications, technical reports, schedules and drawings.
