Hays Public Practice Kicks Off Tournament in Newcastle
Hays Public Practice in Newcastle has kicked off its second annual football tournament for local accountancy firms. The tournament that takes place monthly and is now in its second month, finishing up in September.
Firms such as KPMG, Ernst & Young, PricewaterhouseCoopers, Deloitte, Tenon, Baker Tilly, RMT, and the Charlton Williamson Partnership get together at the Power League in Newcastle once a month, hoping that come September they will walk home with the winning prize; flat screen plasma TV’s for each of the winning team as well as the team trophy. Having won two games each, Ernst & Young and Deloitte currently sit at the top of the table with six-points.
The tournament, organised by Jessica Fleming-Gale, Senior Recruitment Consultant at Hays Public Practice, provides a fantastic networking opportunity for local firms and last year also helped raise money for the Marie Curie charity.
The idea behind the tournament is to allow those early on in their career to network with other people at similar stages, providing the opportunity to make contacts in the local community, sharing ideas and referring work.
Ross Goldie, Corporate recovery Administrator at Tenon is one of players: ‘all of the games are very competitive but all in good spirit! A great networking event organised by Hays.’
Jessica Fleming-Gale commented on the competition: ‘this yearly event is a great opportunity for local practices to indulge in some friendly and healthy competition. It is great to be out with firms supporting a bit of extra curricular fun.’
