Hays Senior Finance reports high demand in the Essex Public Sector for candidates with commercial experience

‘IFRS changes mean that public services organisations will shortly have to report figures in the same way as private firms. For some organisations the changes come into effect for the reporting of 2008 / 09 figures’ says Senan Pierce, Senior Manager in Essex.

‘Indeed some clients are already working on the restating of results and we are seeing an increase in recruitment drives where there is a need for experienced candidates to aid the smooth transition of the changes’. This means that candidates with commercial experience are currently in high demand in the Essex public sector arena.

‘It is an exciting time with lots of changes being made. Temps and interims in the public sector can demand between £300-400 a day and candidates moving into this sector can be rest assured that they are taking on an interim project in one of the more robust sectors of our economy with more reliable job security’.
