Hays City releases first Salary Guide

Hays City 2008 Salary Guide reveals that despite concerns, recruitment is still strong across Finance, Investment Banking, Retail Banking and Investment Management sectors.

Hays City has released its first salary guide following a successful year in which the business has grown 100%

Demand for City professionals is still strong across all sectors despite fears of an imminent recession following the credit crunch. Hays City, a specialist recruiter for the City’s banking community, is finding that demand for high-calibre individuals still outstrips supply, resulting in a candidate-driven market.

Requirement and pay for temporary staff has picked up, this is most evident across the credit and debt markets, indicating that while the business environment remains upbeat at present, employers are increasingly wary about the outlook and want to increase flexibility. Operations and Support remain the highest volume recruitment areas though finance departments have experienced strong demand in the first quarter of 2008. In fact, year on year, Hays City has seen an 8% increase in vacancy registrations, and reported vacancy levels in January – March 2008 indicate that this is yet to change.

The reported high volumes of vacancies registered by Hays City’s broad client base include those in the banking and financial-services communities. The majority of clients in the Finance, Investment Banking, Retail Banking and Investment Management divisions are currently recruiting, and continue to make positive predictions about future hires.

The new Hays City 2008 salary guide reveals figures based on salaries offered in the market place over the last 12 months. Figures relate to base salaries and do not include additional benefits. Telephone interviews, research, and analysis of candidates registered also support the findings in this comprehensive guide.
