A2 Housing Group was formed in 2005 as a result of a merger between Airways Housing Group and Apex Housing Group. More recently, A2HG merged with Winchester Housing Group. These partnerships have created one of the largest housing groups in the South East, firmly establishing A2HG as a long-term player within the sector.

A2HG's portfolio includes 15,000 properties across a range of tenures with a development pipeline of a further 3,000 homes over the next three years, putting it in the top 3 developing Housing Associations in the UK. Set to merge with Dominion Housing Group in October 2008, A2 Housing Group will double in size again within the next year. With the development opportunities and economies of scales that this will bring, this is an exciting time for the organisation.

The Group has an annual turnover of nearly £70m and generates a surplus for reinvestment of more than £10m. A2 also has partnering status with the Housing Corporation.


A2HG delivers a diverse portfolio of housing solutions including; affordable rent, shared ownership, key worker housing, student accommodation, supported housing, build for sale, private rented and other commercial interests. Most of A2HG's current housing stock is located in Surrey, Berkshire, West London, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire. Hays have local offices, which mirror the proximity of these locations, which has enabled us to work closely with A2HG, recruiting key temporary and permanent posts throughout the organisation.

Hays have recruited for A2HG at all levels, for all types of roles, including housing management, supported housing, community involvement, home ownership, customer services, maintenance trades, surveying, development, adaptations, as well as in finance, administration and IT.

In addition to specific permanent recruitment campaigns, we often find that many of our temporary contracts result in candidates becoming appointed on a permanent basis.
